Schubertiade: an Evening of Song at Lady Hill Winery
A Liederabend is a gathering of friends. It is an evening of song designed for an intimate atmosphere of a living room rather than a formal grandeur of a concert hall. These intimate concerts began in Vienna in the late 18th century, when the well-to-do and starving artists alike would gather to hear vocal chamber works performed by both amateurs and professionals. This tradition continues to this day--after all, what can be better than incredible poetry set to terrific music!
